2009/02/12 Club Meeting Minutes

We had our club contest for International Speech and Table Topics Contests. The agenda for the meeting is as follows.

Sergeant At Arms	Joe -- called meeting to order at 7:30pm.
Spark Master	Ken -- told us about the origion of valentine's day.
President	Joy -- welcomed everyone to the meeting.
Toastmaster	Joe -- Explanation of special contest meeting format -- introduced functionaries for the meeting: Jennifer: Chief Judge Stephanie: Ballot Counter Jane: Master Evaluator
Table Topics Contest
Contestants are divided into 2 groups. Joy, Wei, Nina are in group #1, Sam, Mike, Jane, Shyam are in group #2. The topic for group #1 is "What is beauty?" Wei won the contest in group #1. The topic for group #2 is "What is the most important virtue?" Sam won the contest in group #2

Speaker 2	Sam: "What did I Learn from ballroom dancing"
Speaker 3	Shyam: "Same Sex Marriage", Speech # 2 from the Competent Communication Manual
Sam won the contest.
Table Topics Contest Runoff
The topic is "Do you believe in destiny?" Wei won the contest.
