2008/06/26 Club Meeting Minutes

Total 10 members attended the meeting: Jennifer, Jie, Joe, Ken, Kerry, Louise, Mike C, Sam, Shyam, Stephanie. Total 7 guests attended our meeting: Adam, Aviva, Eric, Lisa, Naomi, Patrick, Wei. Wei decided to join our club. Welcome Wei!

The agenda for the meeting is as follows.

Sergeant At Arms	Joe -- called meeting to order at 7:30pm.
Spark Master	Shyam -- told us a funny story about a man who dreams to fly.
President	Joe -- welcomed everyone to the meeting.
Toastmaster	Mike C. -- introduced functionaries for the meeting: Stephanie: Master Evaluator Joe: Grammarian. The word of the day: pro forma Joe: Ah Counter Sam: Timer
Table Topics Jennifer, as the Table Topic Master, asked us to present a gift to a person. 7 members + 2 guests participated in the table topics: Joe, Ken, Kerry, Louise, Sam, Shyam, Stephanie, and guests Eric, Patrick. Joe, Shyam won the Best Table Topic Speaker award.
Business meeting	Louise asked the attending members to approve to renew our meeting room to the end of this year at the rate of $320. All attending members approve this proposal.

Speaker 1	Jie: "The Secrets of Sorting", Speech # 3(Demonstration) from the Speeches to Inform Manual.
Speaker 2	Louise: "Leave IT on the Stove", Speech # 5 from the Interpersonal Communication Manual. (Congratulations to Louise on finishing her 10 speeches on the ACB program!)
Louise won the Best Speaker award.
